Well, hello there.
You aren’t in the wrong place.
I promise.
You were looking for Rebecca Marie Photography, right? I'm still Rebecca Marie. And I still have an obsession with light — the way it falls, the way it shifts, the way catching it just so can make a single frame feel like a whole darn feeling.
And I still believe, deeply, that the most important thing in any photograph isn't the light at all. It's the people in it. The Community around them. The way humans show up for each other at the moments that matter most.
That part hasn't changed. But a few other things have...
Let me explain.
When I picked up a camera in my early twenties, I had no idea what I was really signing up for. I knew I loved the way a single frame could stop time and capture a personality forever. What I didn't anticipate was being invited in to the most sacred, electric, tender moments of people's lives. Weddings. Births. Growing families…
The first photo of a brand new person in this world. The last dance with a grandfather who wouldn't be there next year.
For 15 years, you let me into those rooms. And I never once took that lightly.
To every couple who trusted me with their day, every family who welcomed me into their story:
thank you.
from the bottom of my heart. Photography was never just work. It was a profound privilege.
But the truth is…
Life looks nothing like it did 15 years ago…
I was in my mid-twenties then, with a lot of weekends and holidays available to give.
I've found my own love story since. And naturally, priorities have shifted. I’m learning to work in order to live, rather than live for my work.
Event photography asks everything of you on the days that matter most to those you serve. As they should. Documenting a wedding day is a huge responsibility! You don’t want someone half showing up for that.
And for a long time, I was thrilled to show up and carry that responsibility with a joke that made even the most cranky of uncles smile.
Rebecca Marie Photography wasn't a business that failed. We had incredible clients, meaningful work, and a decade and a half of something I am deeply proud of.
It is simply… time.
Time to close one beautiful chapter and step into what's next.
All those years of learning how to run a thriving business — the mistakes, the slow growth, the successes, the uncertainty, and of course, the amazing celebrations…
I'm putting that all to work now.
I spend my days helping artists and makers build creative businesses they love, so they don't have to learn everything the hard way.
There aren’t too many art schools out there that teach us the practical side of making a living. But as my dear friend, Naomi Clement, says “We make better art when we are well fed.”
What it's really all about is...By helping independent artists build viable businesses, we not only allow artists to create thriving lives, but together, we create a sustainable bend towards equity in the world.
At the end of the day, the most powerful thing about my work was never the camera.
It was The Community.
The way people gather.
The way they support each other through the big moments and the hard ones.
I’m still a part of that, every single day, just in a different (slightly more muddy) room.
Come have a listeN

Ep 709: The Truth About Growing Your Creative Business in 2026
We’re bombarded with messages telling us we’re missing some secret key to business success—especially at the start of a new year—so let’s dig into what that’s all actually about.
Ep 401: Making a Living with Danny Meisinger
When I say “making a living” what do you think I mean? Do you immediately think of income and how much money you make? Or do you think of how you spend your time? Do you think of the balance between working hours and leisure hours? There’s no one right answer, but Danny definitely gives us some very helpful perspective during this chat.
If this sounds interesting to you, I'd love to connect.
