The Maker's Photo Challenge Day

A live workshop to get your pressing questions answered and specific stumbling blocks solved. Whether you use a cell phone or regular camera, you’ll go from dreading the idea of taking photos of your work, to knowing exactly what to do for better photos.

Before we talk about the details, is a Challenge Day right for you?

Have you ever wished you could have someone next to you while you photograph your work? Someone to gently guide you to quick & easy solutions with the resources you already have? Someone to help you make your work look as good in photos as it does in person?

Join us for solutions that work even if you:

  • Live somewhere with limited natural light during the winter (You’re trying to get these photos done after work & on the weekends) or…

  • Don’t get any good natural light in your space
(Your home studio is in the basement. There are literally no windows and that’s all you ever read about) or…

  • Only use your cell phone (and would rather book that trip, contribute to your kiddo’s college fund or buy the fancy dog food instead of purchasing expensive photography equipment).

You are in the right place.

We’re taking what normally only happens at in-person workshops and bringing it directly to you, complete with plenty of time for one-on-one feedback.

The Maker’s Photo Challenge Days are only available for 15 people, per day. There’s no course curriculum. Simply sign up for your chosen time, and then log on live with Rebecca, a professional photographer for the past 14 years who also happens to be a side-hustling ceramicist.

Together, in real time, we’ll problem solve for your unique needs and make sure you walk away with clear steps for taking better photos, faster.

It’s up to you to decide what you’d like help with, but here are some popular ideas:

  • Glossy Glaze Issues & Combatting Glare
(Especially if you’re using one of those all white photo boxes)

  • Natural Light vs Video Lights vs. Flash
(What is “bad” natural light and do you really have it?)

  • Editing & Managing all of those Files
(It’s not only taking the photos that takes so much time, right?!)

  • Only using Your Cell Phone
(There are solutions at every level & no, you don’t need a fancy camera to take good photos)

  • Or Upgrading the “Real” Camera…
(When is it actually time to look into investing in equipment?)

Unlike a traditional course, where students are presented with a pre-set curriculum and then, have to figure out how to implement those new lessons into their own situation (often alone), The Maker’s Photo Challenge Day gives you the opportunity to get help with the photographic issues that are currently a problem for you. Plus, time to immediately implement those suggestions, see the results, and ask any follow-up questions that arise.

How is this all possible? Because each Challenge Day is limited to only 15 makers and includes up to 3 hours together, online.

Choose Your Time & Reserve Your Seat!

All Challenge Days are $67 (USD) and limited to 15 attendees to ensure every student has ample time for not only one-on-one feedback, but also to implement the suggestions made and receive additional feedback as necessary.

Every session lasts up to 3 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Together, we can do this.

You've been wishing a professional could be a fly on the wall, watching what you’re doing and (politely) explaining what to do different. You've been wishing you could take photos faster & easier, especially as the holiday season starts to feel more and more hectic.

Well my friend, here's your sign. This is it. I'm a professional photographer with a side-hustle in ceramics. You can't find a more specific combination for teaching photography to potters and other makers (Believe me. I looked). Together, let's make photographing your work easier. Not just so you can sell more of that work online, but more importantly…

…so you can reclaim hours of your life back.
